On December 15, 2014, WestJet’s community investment program, WestJet Cares for Kids, hosted their annual kids’ holiday party – the Holiday Jam – for more than 200 children and staff at Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary (BGCC).
The annual party is a holiday favourite for BGCC’s kids.
BGCC CEO Cheryl Doherty said, “WestJet makes a positive impact on the lives of our kids throughout the year; however, we are especially thankful at this time of year – a time that can be particularly challenging for some of our kids.”
“Being one of WestJet Cares for Kids’ charitable partners, along with other Boys and Girls Clubs across Canada, is truly an honour,” Doherty said.
WestJet employees – or WestJetters, as they’re known – turned BGCC’s Renfrew Hangar into a whimsical winter wonderland for the kids to enjoy. The winter wonderland included twinkling trees, sparkling snowflakes and a super-sized snowman.
At this year’s Holiday Jam, kids participated in various holiday-themed activities, including crafts, face painting, a bean bag toss, and of course – a visit from Santa Claus!
Each year, the Holiday Jam is a party to remember, and this year was no exception. The beaming smiles on the kids’ faces, and their grins ear to ear, were proof of another magical holiday season full of cheer. Thank you, WestJet!
