Parent Talk - Parent and Family Program

Parent Talk is a parent and family program in Calgary; it promotes the safe and healthy development of children by addressing the needs and requests of parents through a drop-in parent program.

Parent Talk aims to decrease isolation, and to increase knowledge of parenting skills, support, awareness and access to community resources. Parents gain new skills and knowledge about parenting, while children are supervised in a safe, supportive environment. 

How this program helps...

Parent Talk offers a variety of social activities and formal workshops:

  • Coffee time
  • Arts and crafts
  • Conversations and workshops
  •  Recreational outings
  • Cooking

Parent workshop topics might include: 

  • Behaviour management
  • Meal planning and budgeting
  • Passing on values to children
  • Self-care and personal development
  • Positive discipline
  • Building strong families
  • Much more!


Parent Talk sessions take place in a variety of community spaces, including libraries and Boys and Girls Club of Calgary locations.
